Last weekend we went to see Akhnaten opera at the Met Opera House in New York. It was amazing! This was my first visit to the Met. It is spacious with beautiful decor and chandeliers. Akhnaten is an opera in three acts based on the life of the Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten written by the American composer Philip Glass in 1983. He is noted for abandoning traditional Egyptian polytheism and introducing worship centered on the Aten. By the way, he is Tutankhamun’s father.

الويك اند ده شوفنا اوبرا اخناتون في اوبرا الMet في نيويورك. الأوبرا كانت رائعة! دي كانت زيارتي الأولى للMet. المبنى واسع و فيه نجف و ديكور جميل. اخناتون هي اوبرا من ثلاث فصول و بتوصف حياة اخناتون الفرعون المصري. الموسيقى فيها الفها فيليب جلاس في سنة 1983. اخناتون تخلى عن فكرة الآلهة المتعددة في الديانة المصرية القديمة و اسس ديانة فيها العبادة لأتون. ملحوظة، اخناتون هو ابو توت عنخ امون الفرعون المشهور.
